My Motto

Be compassionate to the needy, Neither squander wealth nor hoard it. Never lose your sense of shame, if questions are asked of you, answer them frankly but do not ask too many yourself. Be manly and of good cheer. Never kill a foe who is begging for mercy and be ever loyal in love

Own your own way

Do Not Go Where The Path May Lead, Go Instead Where There Is No Path And LEAVE a TRAIL ....

Take me home,Country Roads

Take Me Home, Country Roads
Almost heaven, west virginia
Blue ridge mountains, shenandoah river
Life is old there, older than the trees
Younger than the mountains, blowing like a breeze

Country roads, take me home
To the place, i be-long
West virginia, mountain momma
Take me home, country roads

All my memories, gather round her
Miners lady, stranger to blue water
Dark and dusty, painted on the sky
Misty taste of moonshine, teardrop in my eye

Country roads, take me home
To the place, i be-long
West virginia, mountain momma
Take me home, country roads

I hear her voice, in the mornin hours she calls to me
The radio reminds me of my home far a-way
And drivin down the road i get a feeling
That i should have been home yesterday, yesterday

Country roads, take me home
To the place, i be-long
West virginia, mountain momma
Take me home, country roads

    Daddy

I AM GOING TO BE A FATHER,
I REALLY DO NOT KNOW WHAT TO DO
    I THINK I FEEL DIZZY
WHAT AM I GOING TO DO?
    WHAT IS HE LIKE NOW:
AND WHAT WILL S/HE BE LIKE?
    I AM REALLY EXCITED
    I AM REALLY CONFUSED
    I AM REALLY SCARED
    PLEASE, DO NOT JUDGE ME
IT IS TRUE, I AM SCARED
    I NEED HELP
COS I AM GOING TO BE A FATHER.

Sole Candidate Demirören Elected New Tff President

Former Beşiktaş Chairman Yıldırım Demirören became new president of the Turkish Football Federation (TFF) on Monday. Demirören was the only candidate and he took  221 out of 229 valid votes. Former President Mehmet Ali Aydınlar resigned from his duty on Feb. 1 because of a crisis regarding the penalties and sanctions  At Monday’s meeting, Demirören said Turkish football has come to the point that it is being impossible to watch football, and  the fans and sponsors are losing interest in Turkish football. The federation has to take action to win them back, the new TFF president said. Demirören is the 41st president of the TFF. Turkish football giants Galatasaray and Bursaspor did not vote for Demirören in the elections. Galatasaray, initially opposed to the candidacy of Demirören, later indicated that the club would support Demirören.

    Neden Bozkurt?

Bu sualin cevabı herhalde Bozkurta ait özeliiklerin Turklerde bulunan özelliklerle örtüşmesi olabilir diye düşünülmektedir. Cesareti, esarete tahammül edemeyişi, kıvraklığı, tek eşli oluşu, aile düzenine sadakati v.b gibi özelikler onun, atalarımız tarafından sembol seçilme nedenlerindendir.

    Without You

    I'd like to lie quitely,
    Alone and in silence.
I'd LİKE  TO LOOK AT A SEA,
    And WATCH THE SETTING SUN
    WHERE THERE IS NOBODY.
    oN A MOONLIGHT NIGHT,
I'D LIKE TO SPRING TO LIFE
WITH THE LOVE OF A BRIGHT STAR.
Like a CONVICT countING dowN AND
    THE GROUND WAITING THE SPRING,
FOR THE SUN I’VE BEEN WAITING,
AS MY EYES  ON THE HORIZON,
    AND MY HEART WITHOUT YOU,
THE NIGHTS AS IF THEY NEVER END
    WHILE I EXPECT THE MEETING.
THE ONLY THING THAT MAKES YOU MINE
    IS THESE WORTHLESS CLUASES.

THOSE WHO OUTLIVE WILL, OF COURSE, FINALLY MET CREATOR THE LORD NO MATTER HOW THEIR LIVING DESIRE OUTWEIGH TO THE DEATH.      BY ZIVA

Turkey's first ever face transplant recipient sees new face
Nineteen-year-old Uğur Acar, who received Turkey's first ever face transplant, saw his new face for the first time on Monday. Acar, who suffered serious burns to his face during a house fire that occurred when he was just 40 days old, underwent a successful face transplant operation last month at Akdeniz University Hospital. The face transplant was made possible after the family of Ahmet Kaya, who had been declared brain dead two weeks ago, donated all of his organs. Acar saw his new face for the first time on Monday and had his first shave. “I thank Turkish doctors,” were among his first words after seeing his new face in the mirror. He said he would like to visit his mother after he is discharged from the hospital and then call on the family of Kaya, his donor. In a written statement issued by Akdeniz University, Dr. Ömer Özkan, a professor from the department of plastic, reconstructive and aesthetic surgery at Akdeniz  University's faculty of medicine, and Dr. Özlenen Özkan, head of the department of plastic, reconstructive and aesthetic surgery at the same faculty, were said to have not left Uğur Acar's side since he arrived at the university hospital for the surgery. Dr. Özkan told the press on Monday morning that 24 days have passed since Acar's critical operation was successfully performed, adding that Acar's condition is better than expected. “Uğur had his first shave. Uğur is both mentally and physically a very strong young man. His being strong makes our job easier. We are lucky to have such a patient. We are continuing to give him treatment to prevent tissue rejection. After a week, we will start cutting down on his medication. He can actually resume a normal life, but we would like to keep him here at the hospital for a little while longer,” Dr. Özkan said.

Pop queen Whitney Houston dies on eve of Grammys

Coroners have completed their autopsy on the body of singer Whitney Houston and confirmed that she was found in the bathtub of her Beverly Hills hotel room, but said the cause of death would not be determined until more lab tests were completed. Ed Winter, assistant chief coroner for Los Angeles County, revealed little about the autopsy at a news conference, but said on Sunday that medical examiners found no visible signs of trauma or foul play. He declined to comment on various media reports that Houston, 48, had drowned in her hotel bathtub, possibly after succumbing to drugs or alcohol. He added, “I'm not going to comment on any of the meds or prescriptions that were obtained.” “I'd just comment that she was found in the bathtub. ... I believe somebody removed her from the bathtub and the paramedics did CPR [cardiopulmonary resuscitation] on her.” He said toxicology tests, which would take six to eight weeks to conduct, would be necessary to determine what factor, if any, drugs or alcohol might have played in Houston's death. He also said a “security hold” had been placed on the case, as has been done in previous high-profile investigations, to keep further details from being divulged. The coroner's briefing came as the Grammy Awards opened a few miles away at the Staples Center in Los Angeles, where rapper-actor LL Cool J payed tribute to the late pop star just after the start of the star-studded music show. “We've had a death in our family and so at least for me ... the only thing that feels right is to begin with a prayer for a woman we loved, for our fallen sister, Whitney Houston,” he said. His brief prayer was followed by a clip of Houston singing her hit, “I Will Always Love You,” as the crowd responded with a standing ovation. Houston, who enjoyed tremendous professional success but struggled with drug abuse for years, died on Saturday afternoon in a fourth-floor room at the Beverly Hilton Hotel. She was at the hotel to attend an annual pre-Grammy gala held that evening by her mentor, record mogul Clive Davis. The Grammy salute on Sunday capped an emotional day for those closest to the pop diva and those who admired her as an entertainer. From the New Jersey church where Houston's singing career first took flight to the hotel where her life abruptly ended, family and fans expressed their grief on Sunday with prayer, tears and raw anguish. Houston's only child, daughter Bobbi Kristina Brown, 18, was taken by paramedics from the hotel to nearby Cedars-Sinai Medical Center on Sunday suffering from anxiety, Beverly Hills police and fire officials said. A fire department spokeswoman declined to disclose any information about the daughter's medical condition but said she was “awake and talking” at the time she was transported. Brown, who was reported by celebrity news website TMZ.com as being enraged at authorities for not being allowed into the hotel room where her mother's body was found, was treated at the hospital for stress and released, a source close to the family told Reuters. A hospital spokeswoman declined comment. CNN reported that Houston's ex-husband, R&B singer Bobby Brown, canceled a long-scheduled performance in Nashville, Tennessee, with his former band, New Edition, to fly back to Los Angeles and attend to the couple's daughter.

    English Pronunciation

English Pronunciation by G. Nolst Trenité

To all the Non-Englishmen I know!
If you can pronounce correctly every word in this poem, you will be
speaking English better than 90% of the native English speakers in the
    world.
    Do enjoy,

(Take a deep breath before you start! )

    Dearest creature in creation,
    Study English pronunciation.
I will teach you in my verse
Sounds like corpse, corps, horse, and worse.
I will keep you, Suzy, busy,
Make your head with heat grow dizzy.

Tear in eye, your dress will tear.
So shall I! Oh hear my prayer.
Just compare heart, beard, and heard,
Dies and diet, lord and word,
Sword and sward, retain and Britain.
(Mind the latter, how it’s written.)

Now I surely will not plague you
With such words as plaque and ague.
But be careful how you speak:
    Say break and steak, but bleak and streak;
    Cloven, oven, how and low,
Script, receipt, show, poem, and toe.

Hear me say, devoid of trickery,
    Daughter, laughter, and Terpsichore,
    Typhoid, measles, topsails, aisles,
    Exiles, similes, and reviles;
    Scholar, vicar, and cigar,
    Solar, mica, war and far;

    One, anemone, Balmoral,
    Kitchen, lichen, laundry, laurel;
    Gertrude, German, wind and mind,
    Scene, Melpomene, mankind.
Billet does not rhyme with ballet,
    Bouquet, wallet, mallet, chalet.

Blood and flood are not like food,
Nor is mould like should and would.
    Viscous, viscount, load and broad,
    Toward, to forward, to reward.
    And your pronunciation’s OK
    When you correctly say croquet.

    Rounded, wounded, grieve and sieve,
Friend and fiend, alive and live.
    Ivy, privy, famous; clamour
    And enamour rhyme with hammer.
    River, rival, tomb, bomb, comb,
Doll and roll and some and home.

Stranger does not rhyme with anger,
    Neither does devour with clangour.
Souls but foul, haunt but aunt,
Font, front, wont, want, grand, and grant,
Shoes, goes, does. Now first say finger,
    And then singer, ginger, linger.

Real, zeal, mauve, gauze, gouge and gauge,
    Marriage, foliage, mirage, and age.
Query does not rhyme with very,
Nor does fury sound like bury.
Dost, lost, post and doth, cloth, loth.
    Job, nob, bosom, transom, oath.

    Though the differences seem little,
    We say actual but victual.
Refer does not rhyme with deafer.
    Foeffer does, and zephyr, heifer.
    Mint, pint, senate and sedate;
Dull, bull, and George ate late.

    Scenic, Arabic, Pacific,
    Science, conscience, scientific.
    Liberty, library, heave and heaven,
    Rachel, ache, moustache, eleven.
    We say hallowed, but allowed,
    People, leopard, towed, but vowed.

    Mark the differences, moreover,
    Between mover, cover, clover;
    Leeches, breeches, wise, precise,
    Chalice, but police and lice;
    Camel, constable, unstable,
    Principle, disciple, label.

    Petal, panel, and canal,
    Wait, surprise, plait, promise, pal.
Worm and storm, chaise, chaos, chair,
    Senator, spectator, mayor.
Tour, but our and succour, four.
    Gas, alas, and Arkansas.

    Sea, idea, Korea, area,
    Psalm, Maria, but malaria.
Youth, south, southern, cleanse and clean.
    Doctrine, turpentine, marine.
    Compare alien with Italian,
    Dandelion and battalion.

    Sally with ally, yea, ye,
Eye, I, ay, aye, whey, and key.
    Say aver, but ever, fever,
    Neither, leisure, skein, deceiver.
    Heron, granary, canary.
    Crevice and device and aerie.

    Face, but preface, not efface.
    Phlegm, phlegmatic, ass, glass, bass.
Large, but target, gin, give, verging,
Ought, out, joust and scour, scourging.
Ear, but earn and wear and tear
Do not rhyme with here but ere.

Seven is right, but so is even,
    Hyphen, roughen, nephew Stephen,
    Monkey, donkey, Turk and jerk,
Ask, grasp, wasp, and cork and work.
    Pronunciation (think of Psyche!)
Is a paling stout and spiky?

Won’t it make you lose your wits,
    Writing groats and saying grits?
It’s a dark abyss or tunnel:
Strewn with stones, stowed, solace, gunwale,
    Islington and Isle of Wight,
    Housewife, verdict and indict.

    Finally, which rhymes with enough,
Though, through, plough, or dough, or cough?
Hiccough has the sound of cup.
My advice is to give up!!!

    Regret

Let`s Write Something Opposed to Something

Smoking kills more people than AIDS, drug abuse, car accidents and crime. Did you know that 36.900,000 people around the globe die each year from cigarette smoking? Smoking tobacco causes 1 out of 6 deaths. Smoking can also cause some very serious diseases. Some people become addicted to smoking.  Lung cancer has caused more deaths in women than breast cancer. If a pregnant woman smokes, she has a greater chance of medical problems with her baby. Cigarette smoking is the number one cause of cancer death in men. Male smokers over the age of 35 are more likely to die from smoking-related diseases like lung cancer. Many children start smoking before they reach high school. They run the risk of smoking most of their lives. So I think that smoking must totally be banned everywhere, tobacco products should never be sold and the dealers should be punished as harshly as possible.

    SUMMARY OF COURSES

Course 1:  Child and Child Literature
Child perception, as it is accepted throughout the world, is bound to accept each child as miniature adults in Turkey, too. However, this perception has started to change in 19th and 20th centuries when serious studies were done about education and child psychology.  The increasing number of schools has accelerated this growth. Child Literature also started to appear during this period. According to UN child right agreement everybody till 18 years is accepted as child. Child Literature is defined such a literature that focuses the sense and thought by considering child`s understanding and comprehension level in adolescence period of child.  The early samples of Child Literature in Turkey of which early samples started to be written in Europe in 19th century started with translation in reform period of Ottoman Empire and then written samples were published.

Course 2: Child Literature in Reform and Constitutional Monarch Periods in Turkey
Child Literature in Turkey, of which early samples were written with the translation in reform period, accelerated its development in constitutional monarch period.  The reason of this is that the politicians of that period gave importance to education thereby children and Child Literature. Many famous child classics were translated during that period between 1908-1918. Over fifty child magazines and newspapers were published. Also, original child books started to be published in the period which the writers and scholars of the country began to have sensitivity about the importance of child education and literature. Child theatre studies also started in this period.

Course 3: Child Literature in Turkey During the Republic Era
Child Literature had a new stage after the foundation of the republic. Child Literature was used as a device to teach the new regime`s principals to the children. This period can be named as didactical period. Child Literature had another different stage under the affects of political and social conditions after the period which lasted till 1960s. Hundreds of child books that especially have left winked ideology were published in that period. The Child Literature in that period, that we can name it as an ideological period, tried to direct  children according to writers` point of view. 1980 military coup brought more conservative and apolitical status to country. In one hand Child Literature had a religious/ conservative way, on the other hand a new writer community who just wrote for children appeared. While the domination of child classics in this period that we can name it as poetic, qualified and original child literature works leaped out. Yalvaç Ural, Mustafa Ruhi Şirin, Gülçin Alpöge, Gülten Dayıoğlu, Fatih Erdoğan, Aytül Akal, Mavisel Yener, Mevlana İdris can be accepted today`s child literature writers.

Course -4: Turkish Literature from Reform Period to Republic
Turkish Literature had a new stage with reform period in 1839. Turkish Literature met many new genres like novel, fiction, theatre. In the new period that started with translation studies, Turkish literature turned into a brand new literature that contains qualified and original works.  While Turkish literature, which was defined as a literature of distinguished community with certain symbols in poetry, was changing, the basis of the modern poetry laid a foundation until 1923 when the republic was declared. Fiction; it was necessary to wait for the end of 19th century to read the early products of the fiction that just entered Turkish literature then. At the beginning of 1900s especially Ömer Seyfettin`s  fictions, which are widely read today,  still take attention. Novel genre samples that just entered Turkish Literature still exists with original works despite the technical troubles encountered. In the first quarter of 20th century, western style novel works started to appear.

    Course-5; Modern Turkish Literature
    The declaration of republic and starting to use the new alphabet in 1928 are the important effects on Turkish literature. In this period, qualified and original works started to appear in both poetry and fiction genre or in novel genre. Ideological and political oppositions were started to be seen in literature too as it was seen almost in every field of live especially since 1960s. After 1980 military coup, writers and scholars who were in self questioning began to change from art for people writer to art for art writer. These are the outstanding literatures;

    Üzülme, dert etme can.
    Görebiliyorsan, dokunabiliyorsan, nefes alabiliyorsan,
    yürüyebiliyorsan ne mutlu sana.
    Elinde olmayanları söyleme bana.
    Elinde olanlardan bahset can.
